Why Go
The newest of St Barth's three Monoprix outposts, this 400-square-meter Lorient shop is where villa cooks, yacht provisioners and homesick Parisians all cross paths in the aisles ΓÇö a slice of chic French grocery culture set down between the airport and the surf beaches.
The Experience
Opened in September 2023 in the former Jojo space, this is the biggest Monoprix on the island and the one that feels most like a proper Parisian supermarché rather than a corner épicerie. Wide aisles, cold cases stacked with dairy from mainland France, and a genuine wine-and-spirits cellar tucked at the back make it a very different experience from the smaller convenience shops elsewhere on St Barth. The vibe is calm and cool (literally — a welcome escape from midday heat), with friendly staff who switch between French and English without missing a beat. You'll see barefoot surfers grabbing a rotisserie chicken next to charter guests filling carts with rosé and burrata, all under the familiar pink Monoprix signage.
What to Try
Load up on the Monoprix Gourmet line — the terrines, tapenades, madeleines and chocolate bars are all trip-worthy — and don't skip the Monoprix Bio range for organic yogurts, jams and cereals that beach-house breakfasts practically require. The cheese cabinet punches well above the island average (comté, chèvre, époisses, fresh mozzarella flown in weekly), and the wine cellar is the real sleeper: proper Sancerre, Provençal rosé, Champagne and a serious spirits wall at prices noticeably kinder than any restaurant markup. Fresh baguettes, viennoiseries, salted butter from Brittany and a small but reliable produce section round out the essentials.
Insider Tip
Hit it early — 7 a.m. on weekdays or 8 a.m. Sunday — before the villa chefs and yacht stewards descend and clean out the fresh bread, rotisserie chickens and premium rosé. If you're self-catering for the week, do one big provisioning run here on arrival day (it's a five-minute drive from the airport) rather than paying delivery premiums; the parking lot is small but turns over fast.

Located in Lorient (97133), roughly a five-minute drive east of the airport and Gustavia and just inland from Lorient Beach. Open MondayΓÇôSaturday 7 a.m.ΓÇô7 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m.ΓÇô8 p.m. Cards accepted; euros only. Free parking on-site but tight at peak hours (late morning and pre-sunset). No dedicated shuttle ΓÇö you'll want a rental car or scooter, which is standard on the island anyway.
